VERENICE LOPEZ

Born in Mexico City, Verenice called Austin home before her career took her to Atlanta and New York. A few years later, she found her way back to Austin, where she's spent the last decade creating award-winning work at GSD&M.

A naturally curious creative, Verenice draws inspiration from the places she explores and the cakes she creates. Traveling has given her a deep appreciation for different cultures, perspectives, and the stories that connect people, while cake decorating satisfies her love of craft, color, and obsessive attention to detail. Whether she's designing a campaign or piping buttercream, she's happiest making something that surprises people and brings them joy. Those passions continue to shape the way she thinks, creates, and solves problems for brands.

Over the past 12+ years, her work has been recognized by Cannes Lions, the Clio Awards, and the ADDY Awards, while helping win new business including Pizza Hut, Universal Parks & Resorts, and Tyson. She's created campaigns for brands including Hilton, Hampton, Southwest Airlines, Capital One, Dodge, Food Lion, Pizza Hut, Universal Parks & Resorts, and Tyson—always bringing curiosity, thoughtful craft, and a fresh perspective to every brief.
